The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has officially opened registration for the June and November 2025 Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations.
In a statement, ZIMSEC urged prospective candidates to visit their nearest school or examination centre to complete the registration process before the deadlines. The council emphasized the importance of early registration to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
Exam Fees and Government Subsidy ZIMSEC announced that examination fees will be charged in US dollars. However, a Government subsidy will be available for students in public schools, local authority schools, and non-profit mission schools. Private candidates, students from private institutions, and those retaking subjects will be required to pay the full amount without subsidy.
For Ordinary Level candidates, the examination fee is set at US$24 per subject. The Government will cover US$13 for eligible students, leaving them to pay only US$11 per subject. Advanced Level candidates will be charged US$48 per subject, with the Government subsidizing US$26, reducing the cost to US$22 for qualifying students.
Payment Options and Deadlines Payments can be made in US dollars, South African Rand, or Zimbabwe Gold at the prevailing interbank rate as of March 10, 2024, for the June session and March 24, 2024, for the November session.
The Government will subsidize a maximum of seven subjects at the O-Level and four subjects at the A-Level, including Communication Skills. However, the subsidy will not be applicable to students retaking subjects, and the Basic Education Assistance Module (BEAM) will not cover repeat exams.
Registration and Advisory Parents and guardians have been advised to consult their respective schools or examination centres for specific registration deadlines.
“Stakeholders are encouraged to contact their respective centres for registration closing dates to avoid any inconvenience,” ZIMSEC stated.
As the examination period approaches, students are encouraged to register early and take advantage of the available Government subsidies. For further details, candidates are advised to visit their nearest school, examination centre, or the official ZIMSEC website.
