Cameroon GCE exams 2022: North West teachers say they were underpaid

Cameroon GCE exams 2022: North West teachers say they were underpaid. Students are still expecting the GCE 2022 results which are probably going to be released by late August 2022. The examination took place this July and some 12 teachers working in the cris-hit North West region say they were underpaid for invigilation and writing materials during the 2022 examination session.

The North West region, just like the South West has been affected by the socio-political crisis with teachers attacked and even murdered alongside students. This has made the teaching profession a very risky one in these regions.

According to these unsatisfied teachers,  the new rules allocate 15 candidates per invigilator for papers 1 and 30 per invigilator for papers 2 and 3. Their letter to the registrar of the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board says they followed the rules and weren’t paid correctly.
