Tuition waivers of up to 100 percent will be granted to deserving students. The fee waiver will apply for the normal duration of the program followed. If extensions of the study period are necessary, these may not necessarily be eligible for a fee waiver.
Level: Master, PhD.
Deadline: June 20, 2022.
Financing: Fully and partially funded.
Open to: All nationalities except the EU.
Host country: Malta.
Host establishment: University of Malta.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must be :
- Non-European citizen,
- Has a bachelor (master candidates), or Master (PhD candidates),
- Has a good proficiency in the English language,
- Has an excellent academic history.

There are more than 730 master’s programs available in more than 30 faculties, colleges, and centers of research.
How to rank candidates?
The selection criteria approved by the Senate are as follows:
- The academic capacity of the candidate: (25%)
- the quality of the research proposal : (25%)
- the quality of the cover letter: (25%)
- Performance during the interview: (25%).
Benefits of this scholarship program
Scholarship applications will be evaluated by a selection committee to ensure that scholarships are awarded to deserving applicants. The candidate may benefit from a total (i.e., 100%) or partial (i.e., between 10% and 90%) fee waiver.
How to apply for the University of Malta Postgraduate Scholarships 2023-2024
The procedure is done in two stages:
- Apply to a master’s program,
- If you are accepted, you should submit a fee waiver request by sending an email to [email protected] indicating your “Applicant ID”. You must mention as the subject line “University of Malta Postgraduate Scholarship Application”.
The following documents must be attached to the application email:
- Detailed Résumé.
- A cover letter.
Each master’s program has a specific application form. The selection board can question the candidates (via the Internet if necessary). The deadline to apply is June 21, 2022.
