The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques PGSM Master scholarships 2022. The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris offers to students, selected through an online application process, Masters’ scholarships of 1 or 2 years.
The selected laureates thus integrate the masters in mathematical sciences or fundamental computer science from one of the following universities or research centres:
- University of Paris,
- University of Sorbonne Paris Nord,
- University Sorbonne,
- University of Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne
- University of Paris-Dauphine
- École Normale Supérieure (ENS)
- Collège de France
- Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS),
- INRIA.

The laureates benefit from a unique range of courses based on the expertise of the Parisian research laboratories in mathematical sciences.
The Parisian mathematical network is an exceptional community in the word, probably the biggest in terms of mathematical spectrum.
It includes more than 1200 researchers (including 5 Fields medallists, 19 academics, more than 200 national and international prize-winners) who teach, for the most part, in the FSMP network’s masters programs, in the best tradition of the internationally recognized French school of mathematics.
The Scholarships
This programme is open to students wishing to enrol in the 1st and/or 2nd year of Master.
Please, be aware that only completed applications will be evaluated.
Two PGSM Master call per year:
- From the 15th of October 2021 to the 24th of February 2022 (23h59, Paris time) : this call is open to students who are carrying out their studies in Universities outside France (a bachelor degree or a first year of master in mathematics or theoretical coputer science). Moreover, they have to be on the condition that their bachelor or their 1st year of a master is awarded before the start of the academic year 2022-23.
Please apply on line, here. - From the 17th of March 2022 to the 12th of May 2022 (23h59, Paris time) : this call is open only to students who are enrolled in a 3rd year of a “licence” or a 1st year of a master in mathematics or theoretical computer science in the FSMP network. Moreover, they have to be on the condition that their 3rd year of a “licence” or a 1st year of a master is awarded before the start of the academic year 2022-23.

Additional Scholarship to be granted
- One additional scholarship in M2 Maths Fondamentales, financed by the IMJ-PRG, can be awarded to a student enrolled in Sorbonne Université or Université de Paris in M1 or in the preparation of the « agrégation ».
- One to two additional M1 or M2 scholarships in fundamental computer science, financed by the IRIF (Université de Paris), can be awarded to one or two students who have completed a year of L3 or M1 within the FSMP network.
- One or more additional M1 or M2 scholarships in mathematics co-funded by the LAGA (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord).
Laureates enrolled in Masters of the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord will be able to enroll also in the Ecole Universitaire de Recherche Math & Computer Sciences de l’Université Paris-Nord.

Eligibility
This call for applications is open to students:
- Having taken their courses in universities outside France, regardless their nationalities.
- Have completed a 3rd year of a bachelor’s degree or a 1st year of a master’s degree in mathematics or fundamental computer science.
Calendar of The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques PGSM Master scholarships 2022
The entire form must have been completed before the deadline of 24th of February 202 at 11:59 p.m. (Paris time) for the application to be valid.
The granting of the scholarship starts on September 1. Students in the program must be present from September 1 of the academic year to benefit from intensive French courses and to be ready for the various administrative procedures.
Online results will be in late May and mid-June.

- Transcripts and Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s transcripts and diploma (if applicable).
- Letter(s) of recommendation(s).
Candidates are invited to provide in their application all the elements of comparison (ranking, ranks in the competition, ranking in national or international competitions, etc.) which would make it possible to determine the level of their application. These elements must be supported by official documents.
It’s worth mentioning that:
- If your master is not in the drop-down list of the registration form, leave this field empty and specify your choices in your cover letter.
- If there are not all the M2 specialization choices, leave this field blank and specify your choices in your cover letter.
