MINAC: Ministry of Arts and Culture Cameroon. This ministry is headed by the Minister of Culture who is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nation’s policy in terms of cultural promotion and development, as well as national integration. As such, he is responsible for:

  • the development and dissemination of national culture;
  • preparing and monitoring measures aimed at strengthening national integration;
  • cinematography;
  • the protection, conservation, enrichment and promotion of the national cultural, artistic and cinematographic heritage;
  • the preservation of historic sites and monuments, museums, libraries, film libraries and national archives.
  • It oversees the Palais des Congrès and liaises between the public authorities and copyright organizations.

Minac officially launched the 6th edition of the forum for young professionals in this sector on October 10 in the southern region.

About fifty African participants reflected on the future of cultural and natural heritage. They came from 18 countries on the continent to discuss the issue. The work of the 6th edition of the Forum of Young World Heritage Professionals was opened last October 10 in Mvomeka’a in the South region, by the Minister of Arts and Culture, Bidoung Mkpatt. The five-day meeting is placed under the theme: “African youth in the next 50 years: the heritage we want”.
