Education/Nigeria: Rivers State University bans tattoos and Short Skirts on campus! In a memo from the Registrar/Secretary to Senate, Dr. S. C. Enyindah, and addressed to the President of SUG and all students, the directive placed a ban on the coloring of hair by both male and female students; wearing of earrings by male students and nose rings by female students; as well as tattoos by both male and female students.
Female students have also been banned from wearing ankle chains, long eyelashes, spaghetti gowns, and short skirts above the knees.
The directive further compelled both sets of students to refrain from wearing bathroom slippers or bum shorts, and also donning tattered jeans and sagging. In a letter signed by the registrar of the school, Dr. S.C Enyindah states that wearing of Spaghetti gown, short skirt, blouse that exposes the naval of the breast, leg chain, and long eyelashes are banned.
Tinting hair, sagging trousers, tattoos, and fixing nose rings are also banned.
The memo titled, “Ban on Indecent Dressing by Students on Campus” is the sequel to the memo presented by the Committee of Provost and Deans and considered by the Senate at its 291st Regular Meeting in September.

Meanwhile, Rivers State University, RSU, earlier this week began the implementation and enforcement of its ‘No school fees, No exams’ policy.
Nigerian info reported that some final-year students who are yet to pay their school fees were seen standing outside their exam hall.
Recall that the state-owned university on October 14, announced a ‘No school fees, No exams’ policy and shifted the exams from last week Monday to this week to enable students to pay. This followed data that showed that about eight thousand students are yet to pay school fees or register for their courses.
