Egestion is the elimination of undigested material in solid or semi-solid form from the digestive tract through the anus or the mouth.
On the other hand, Excretion is the process that gets rid of metabolic wastes formed from the chemical reactions of the body, such as in urine, sweat, etc.
Excretory organs do not include the anus. The three major organs of excretion are the skin, kidneys and lungs.
Sweat glands in the skin produce sweat. This contains water, urea and salt. Excreting sweat helps keep the body cool in hot conditions.
The kidneys remove excess water, salts and urea to prevent a toxic build-up of these substances in the body.
Also, we could further distinguish Egestion from excretion by talking about type of organisms that use this two system of discharging waste materials.
Only animals to carry of egestion since they have a digestive system as opposed to plants.
