Our Client is an Indigenous FinTech Startup providing innovative payment gateway solutions to service various businesses in Africa.

The company is seeking to hire a strong senior product designer who will be responsible for defining the product experience across all our platforms, partnering with product management, data science, and engineering to make sure we continue to lead and innovate by solving tomorrow’s financial inclusivity problems today.

The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of design best practices, identify research needs in the product roadmap, actively manage and facilitate communications with stakeholders, and be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of our design systems.

Job Responsibilities

· Define the user experience, interactions, and user interface through user flows, information architecture, sketches and wireframes, and visual design
· Build functional prototypes to validate and test your designs
· Participate in user research and testing
· Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into unique product experiences
· Design and create rich and creative micro-animations for the UI to delight our customers
· Define requirements for A/B or other experiments to test features, ideas, layouts, etc.
· Run design sprints and cross-company workshops – coordinating feedback between stakeholder, design and engineering teams
· Identify the needs of customers and improve on existing features
Contribute to the growth of the design system

Requirements

· Degree in Design, Psychology, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
· 5+ years proven experience working in the FinTech industry
· Experience working with a design system
· Illustration skills
· Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript
· Proficiency using AdobeXD (Figma, Sketch and other tools are also allowed)
· A strong portfolio showcasing experience in Product Design
· Familiarity with Adobe creative suite (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
· A keen eye for aesthetics and details
· Working knowledge of the ideation and creation of UI design deliverables: Sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, prototypes.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
