Here is FIFA’s official verdict on the Algeria-Cameroon Worldcup qualifiers match. After their last-minute defeat in the last qualifying match for the Qatar 2022 FIFA Worldcup, the Algerians had submitted an appeal claiming the arbitration of the match was in their disfavour.
But unfortunately for them, the appeal brought before the FIFA arbitration committee did not succeed. A press release from the Algerian Football Federation was recently published revealing the decisions taken by FIFA.
We read in the press release:
“In response to the complaint lodged with the FIFA Referees Committee concerning the Algeria – Cameroon play-off return match of March 29, 2022 qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) informs be recipient, today May 06, 2022, of a correspondence from the said commission, the content of which is as follows: “We regret that, according to your assessment, the decisions of the referees could have negatively influenced the course of the meeting.
We have taken good note of the elements of your letter and we can already guarantee that all the incidents that occurred during the match have been carefully examined by the two “video” referees, in accordance with the Laws of the Game and the video assistance protocol for arbitration. ”
So, Cameroon will participate in its 8th World Cup. To tell the truth, the true observers of world football knew that these recourses of Algeria had no chance to prosper.
